Blog #15 Drug Class and lessons learned

Good Morning cadets. Since we are working on presenting your drug classes, you task this week is to post what new information you learned about the drug that you are teaching.  Find a video or website that you used for your work and post it to our blog site.  Remember to post your synopsis of your site and to comment at least one of your peer's work. Once you have done this, you will be eligible for your grade. Good luck and I look forward to your work and presentations.

My presentation was about Cocaine and what i learned about it was that Cocaine increases your heart beat and the size of your heart. so your heart is bigger than a healthy heart that doesn't consume drugs/cocaine.

My presentation was about LSD and what I learned was that a person on LSD is more likely to kill themselves than a person on a different drug due to the fact that they make more poor decisions while on the trip.

I did my presentation on LSD. I learned that even months after taking the drug, you can still have flashbacks. These cause you to randomly re-experience any side effects you had previously.

  4. My class presentation was about alcohol. It is a well known drug, but the one thing that I have learned was that alcohol was illegal once. "In 1920 the United States made manufacturing, sales, importing, and exporting of alcohol illegal." Bootlegged alcohol flooded the streets and secret bars were made. In 1933 alcohol became legal once again in the United States. http://www.history.com/topics/prohibition

Your presentation was very informative, I didn't know that alcohol was once illegal and that it was considered a drug.

My drug presentation was on cocaine. I learned that there are 5 ways in which cocaine can be administered, the routes of administration are oral, insufflation, injection, inhalation, and suppository.

  9. Making the Ecstasy presentation was really fun. I had a blast re watching "The Hangover" to get all of the side effects and the actual effects. Ecstasy is essentially a date rape pill that renders the person who consumes it paralyzed, but still conscious, and the victim does not remember anything either.

My project was about alcohol. I learned that drunk driving is more dangerous than i thought. I knew you are able to get into an accident but i thought if you drove slow and safe you would be ok but it is impossible to avoid a car accident if you are drunk because of the symptoms of alcohol.
