Blog #33 Coney Island Principal pulls patriotic song

Coney Island principal refuses to let kindergarten students sing "God Bless the USA" at graduation, but Justin Bieber's "Baby" is OK

Cadets: Please read this article and let me know what you think about the decision
that was made to drop the song "God Bless the U.S.A." from the graduation
ceremony.  Thanks and have a great year.  I hope that anyone that reads this
blog will post their responses.

  1. I feel what she is doing is unfair but signing to Proud to Be an American isn't a sense to expressing religion or offend other cultures. Proud to be an America is a song that people sing to say that they're thankful to be in a free country and I believe that the principal should re-evaluate the song Baby because that's not a song for 5year old kids to be singing even if it's a well known song.

  2. What a stupid thing to do.As a teacher ,she should teach the students how to sing God bless the USA and teach them what this song means. If she teachs her students to sing this song then some of them may really understand what this song means. She is not doing her job and I don't like justin biber. If she said that 5years old kids don't know how to be patriotic then you think they know what "baby" is about? What you teach is what they're going to like after they grow up. Stop ruining those kids's future.
