The group that presented about marijuana was Betty, Christian, and Derrick. They went over its effects on the human body, the law concerning marijuana, and even the historical use of it. They were very thorough in their explanations and descriptions.
Marijuana can be smoked which is the most common way people administer the drug. Marijuana was first used by the Chinese about 5000 years ago to make giving birth easier. Today in the U.S. there is a conflict between federal and state law concerning the use of marijuana in some states. Marijuana raises one's heart rate and causes the user to be very relaxed.

  3. LopezD7, the presentation of Miriam Juarez, John Jiang, and Phil Casquette was on cocaine. Their presentation was very descreptive and they told us a lot about the drug. Especially Juarez, she spoke a lot of the time. I think they should've described more ways on how the people use the drug. They all spoke about the same amount on the drug. They should review their slides again though because they kept looking back at the smartboard, but overall I think they good on their presentation as a group.
They did their project on cocaine, and some things they said was that cocaine is very addictive. Most people do the drug by sniffing the cocaine with a straw, but if you sniff the drug, you can get a hole in your nose and that it gets bigger. They used to put the cocaine inside of coca-cola bottles but then stopped it. Also, they said that cocaine is very expensive.

The presentation that I liked was the one about LSD. The people on this group were Barton Courtney, Roberts Matthew, and Avila Jordy. I felt that this presentation had a lot of information to give. As they were presenting I gained lots of information. I also really liked the way it was presented. Matthew had a great speaking voice and had lots to say about LSD. Courtney as well had a great speaking voice. The power point it self was very nice. You could see that they put their time and effort in it. They also did their best to memorize their lines, which I thought was great.
Some things I learned during this presentation was the drug it's self. I have never heard of this drug before. Another thing I learned was that this drug is a hallucinogens. Hallucinogens are drugs that cause hallucinations. This means that the consumer starts seeing things that are not actually there. It can disrupt the normal functioning of your brain, possibly for the short term, and possibly for life. These are just some of the things I remembered of the top of my head but their are many more facts and information about this drug.

The presentation that i found most interesting is about marijuana presented by Logan and Nakhlawi. Their presentation was easy to follow through and they did a good job, we all did. Marijuana is an addictive drug that can mess up your life completely. Marijuana was first used by a Chinese emperor, Shen Nung. Before Marijuana came to known as Marijuana, it used to be Cannabis. It was spread throughout the Islamic empire to North Africa.
Marijuana was made by dried flowers, seeds, and leaves of Indian hemp. THC found in female plants are highly addictive and are used worldwide. Marijuana is also used in candy and hemp fibers. There are many various names of the plant used in Marijuana.

    2. I believe cannabis is the scientific term for the plant, while marijuana is simply the common name. It is interesting to know that it was socially acceptable for usage in ancient times.

The presentation that stuck in my mind the most was the presentation done by Agard, Castro, and Caraballo about Heroin. I remember that it they gave many information that i didn't know about Heroin. They had videos of the withdrawal of heroin and the statistics about how heroin affected the human body. Heroin have strong side effects such as dry mouth, warmth flushing of skin, kidney disease, liver disease, and cause vein collapse. this presentation give me information about the scary side effects that heroin causes.
i learned about the history of heroin that were taught by the group. Heroin was introduced to the U.S in the mid 1800s from the Chinese immigrants. it was discovered by the Beyers company of Germany. in modern society the biggest producer is Afghanistan and they use the money earned by selling heroin for weapons and military use. heroin is a big support for Afghanistan's economy.

  10. LoganSantosF8 Fellow peers Kevin and Phillip did a presentation on crack cocaine. They talked about its history, uses and various side effects like... let me guess DYING! Taking it just once gets you addicted and who knows what it can be laced with. So lets all agree that drugs are dangerous and should be avoided. http://science.howstuffworks.com/cocain.htm

The presentation I liked was LSD, I knew the basics of LSD and it's effects but that was it, only basic details. I always thought it was yellow and possibly had a smell to it. But to my surprise it's color is artificial and it has no smell at all. I also thought it came only as a tablet, but it was interesting how many shapes and sizes it can take on and work just as effectively. Other things I found even more interesting was the effects of the drug. With apparently the fact that people induced in the drug taste colors and see music, something that sounds impossible and ridiculous.
The speakers also did very well in their job, even though Guiveses was the strong speaker even though she admitted to not rehearsing the presentation. I noticed the groups discrepancies, looking at the board quite often, but nonetheless they improvised quite well. Yang and Guiveses did their part in the presentation and spoke clearly to the audience so everyone could hear.

its not addictive but mentally addictive. The're are no long term physical l side effects but it can cause flash backs even months after you have taken the drug.there are no withdraw symptoms but it cause death because your body is not suppose to take it. it can come in powder tables or you can make sugar out of it.

The lesson about nicotine was conducted by Nakhlawi and Santos. As a highly addictive drug, nicotine can cause withdrawal symptoms when taken for a prolonged period. On account of its chemical composition, it causes consumers to be susceptible to cancer, and of course death. Once the withdrawal phase is already taking place, conditions such as COPD only worsen over time. It is common knowledge that oxygen is meant to be inhaled, while carbon dioxide is meant to be exhaled. However, among the constituents of the drug is the latter, which causes abnormalities in body functions.

Although nicotine is being abused for its stimulating effects, its original purpose was religious and cultural. In contemporary society, however, it is being categorized as a gateway drug--it leads to dependence on a stronger drug. While it is mainly derived from leaves, it can also be created synthetically, which can account for harsher repercussions. In turn, it is known to be more lethal when produced unnaturally.

One presentation that i really enjoyed was the presentation from cadets Phillip Ioannou And Kevin Lin. Theyre presentation on Cocaine was very solid and was packed with information.Cocaine is very addicting and can be very dangerous to your health.By doing these drugs there and different ways to use it You can Sniff,Smoke and inject different types of cocaine. When Cocaine is sniffed/Snorted it can decay the skin from your nose and have nose bleeds and after time deteriorate the nose and leaves very distinctive marks on your body. They spoke very clearly and did not read from the board they knew there topics and information very well. The presentation itself was very successful they used many pictures and tons of information and should get a very god grade for the presentation. The major export of cocaine is Columbia which the government is trying to stop all of the drug cartels and i also learned how they produced the cocaine and the Hierarchy in the drug cartels and if you want more information on there presentation here it is https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ALa_Me1FSWJ5HM2UPo76DYdubI-FZpOlA65lfsNLztE/edit?usp=sharing

Although all the presentations were amazing, the one on LSD and Mushrooms made by Guiveses and Yang,Z stood out the most. There were so many interesting facts about LSD and Mushrooms that I never knew about. LSD is manufactured from lysergic acid. It is odorless and colorless. LSD became popular in the 1960’s and was officially banned by 1967 in the United States. The drug comes in many different sizes and shapes. Although its a hallucinogen, its only psychologically addictive, there are no withdrawal symptoms.
Another interesting fact about LSD is that more than 90% of the drug exists the system within 12 hours. The effects can last from 6 to 11 hours and the peak of the trip occurs between the second and sixth hour. The Lowest period of LSD use was in the year of 1986.

In class, cadets Juarez, Jiang and Casquette presented a slideshow on cocaine. I believe most of us know a general idea of what cocaine is. Yet this very descriptive presentation gave us a better understanding of the drug itself and the side effects. All of their information was very detailed, straight to the point and nevertheless informative. All spoke a great deal of time and it was obvious that they knew what they were talking about due to their very professional attitude.

Cocaine, which is one of the most expensive drugs out there during this time, can be snorted, smoked and injected. Similar to other drugs it can be very harmful. Distinctively, snorting cocaine can deteriorate skin on the nose as well as leave obvious marks all around the body. This schedule II drug is described as having a high potential for abuse leading to severe psychological or physical dependence.

My favorite group that presented was jiang, Juarez and phils group. They presented the drug cocaine. There presentation was very informational and straight forward. They also shared information equally. There presentation was also done in a audience amount of time.
I learned many things from there presentation. Cocaine is a drug derived from the leaves of the South American coca plant. Like other plant-produced substances such as caffeine, the amount of cocaine present in the actual plant is relatively small, and historically it was used as a mild stimulant by native peoples. It was only after the advent of modern chemistry techniques that the molecule was isolated and purified into the form we recognize as a drug today. Cocaine was never restricted to a particular economic or social class, either in South America or in its refined form, and still enjoys broad public appeal (though illegal). Case in point: Coca-Cola originally contained, and was named after, its cocaine content.
